Dell 2950 Installation Overview

The Dell 2950 is a 2U Rackmount Server that uses the new Dell combination rail kit. This new rail kit has been improved from earlier versions by providing the ability to install in both a square and round holed rack. This is accomplished by a rotating assembly on the ends of the slide rails. It’s this rotating assembly that can cause issues with some installations.

There are numerous options for installing a Dell 2950 into a Server Rack as well as a Relay Rack. The products listed below will provide solutions for any type of installation that exists.

    Will the Dell PE2850 rails work for the 2950?

    The product that I would recommend is the 2URAIL-2950. This rail kit will install into any type of 4 Post Rack. The cost is $189 and will ship the day the order is received.     Which suitable Rack Cabinet size for Dell PE2950 ( 800cm X 800cm or 800cm X 1000 cm or 1000cm X 1000 cm).

    The PE2950 has an installation depth range of: 26 15/16″ to 29 5/16″ with an overall depth of 35 3/16″.
    35 3/16″ = 893.76mm

    You will need the 1000mm Rack.
